Swingers (1996)- this film was actually brilliant. I liked it a lot and found it very funny at times. The story is fantastic even though very minimal. I recommend a watch of this if you haven't seen it already.

The Beach (2000) - I thought that this film was great despite some of its ratings. I found the movie highly compelling even though some of the events in this film were pretty unrealistic. Definitely worth a watch.

The Basketball Diaries (1995) - I thought that this film was pretty great. The acting from DiCaprio was excellent. I still don't understand why he has never won an Oscar. This was a fantastic look at drug life and what it can do to a person after they become hooked. A must watch.

30th March 2014 Cont.

Paranormal Activity (2007) - I actually thought that this was pretty good. The acting was believable and the build up to the end worked pretty well. This is the first movie I have ever seen on Blu-Ray and maybe that helped me enjoy it a little more (seeing all the little details etc.). I didn't think it was fantastic but I think I will be watching some of the other additions to the franchise in the near future even though they do seen to get worse according to the iMDB ratings.

Summer Rental (1985) - an ok movie with some reasonably good laughs but very, very predictable and I've seen it all before. Forgettable.

1st April 2014

What's Eating Gilbert Grape (1993, 118 mins) - this is a very nice film with a great cast and incredible acting (especially from Dicaprio). However, I think the story could have been a bit better.

3rd April 2014

Marvin's Room (1996, 98 mins) - a good film with a great cast and story. We definitely see a lot of character development but I thought that the ending could have been a little better. However, I understand the writers probably wanted it to be realistic and left for us to decide what happens. Worth the watch.
