Gravity (2013) - wow. By far the greatest visually impressive film that I ever seen and it continued to amaze me throughout. I also thought that the story was good (but not amazing). The movie is told in "real-time" and enough was going on for you to stay hooked. The idea of "no sound in space" was played on a lot too. You could only hear communications over the comms and a soundtrack. This is a good thing. If you haven't seen the film yet then you're missing out.

The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) - a very well made movie with astonishing acting and an interesting, true storyline which goes into a lot of detail. But maybe too much detail. This 3 hours long this film does drag on at times and some scenes seem unnecessary. This is not a film I would want to sit through again anytime soon but it is still a great film and by the end of it I was satisfied and intrigued. This film also has some of the funniest moments I have had the pleasure of watching for a very long time and is definitely worth a watch.

Grabbers (2012) - was pleasantly surprised to see such great effects in this low budget irish film. The acting was good and it was a fairly funny movie and has everything you'd expect in a good monster movie. However at times I thought that some scenes were boring. The film is good but it could be improved.
My Rating: 6/10
12 Years A Slave (2013) - an incredible film with incredible acting and an incredible story. This film is a must watch. I didn't have much knowledge on how slaves were sold and treated but by the end of the film it felt like I have just had the best history lesson in well, history...

American Hustle (2013) - um. I had had to look at the reviews of this movie to see if I was the only one who didn't like it and thankfully I wasn't. I really didn't like this movie at all. I found it very boring and it dragged on and on and felt double its length. The only thing I did like about it was the acting.

Blue Jasmine (2013) - this film is very good. The acting is amazing and the story is very interesting and not like something I have ever seen before. I was pleasantly surprised to find myself as highly involved in it as I was. The ending is sad though and left me feeling very sorry for Jasmine.
My Rating: 7/10
Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa (2013) - don't know how much you'd agree that this is a movie and that's why I watched this along with another movie to make sure I've at least watched one "real" movie today. Bad Grandpa was all good fun and has some hilarious moments and is definitely worth the watch. The child actor is brilliant and I can't wait to see him in more stuff because he is very, very confident and funny. However I'm pretty sure that some of it is fake.

Rush (2013) - wow, a great film with one of the greatest endings that I have seen in a long time. Along with brilliant acting and visuals this film was constantly exciting and intriguing and I wished that it was longer. Rush has became one of my favorite films of all time.
My Rating: 9/10
Short Term 12 (2013) - wow, I was unsure if I was going to like this movie before going to watch it as I had no idea what it was about. I just knew it was a "shorter" movie that fits my timeframe. I'm sooo glad I watched this. This movie was so beautiful, raw and real that it managed to hit me emotionally. The acting was amazing throughout and a the story was phenomenal and thought provoking. Just do yourself a favour and watch this gem because I can't fault it.

Her (2013) - well, I've got to be honest. I was disappointed a little by this movie. I didn't enjoy it very much. I cringed a lot in many scenes, I thought the amount of swearing was unnecessary for the story and I just thought that it was a strange film. However, the acting was pretty outstanding and the voice acting for Samantha was pretty amazing. The "not-too-futuristic" feel makes the film feel a little more like the reality of the future but I highly doubt that many people would connect with AI's like this especially when they simulated sex. It might just be me but I just felt so awkward. Sorry, but not a great movie in my opinion but obviously it's just a matter of taste.

American Psycho (2000) - a beautiful movie about a nice rich man called Patrick Bateman who is a banking executive in New York. He has a lot of money so he decides to spend it nicely. He gives money to the homeless, pays for peoples trips to London and even pays for the meals for his colleagues at high-classed restaurants. He also loves to tape everything he does (like a diary). Haha, just kidding (well maybe not about the taping part). American Psycho is a great movie about Patrick Bateman, a psychopathic killer who kills regularly for pleasure but also because feels he he needs to. This movie is very powerful and the acting is brilliant. The introduction instantly got me hooked due its the beautifully artistic shots and the film continued to be very good throughout and even made me laugh in places. The acting was also fantastic from the majority of the cast. This is a great movie and is definitely worth a watch. Just don't show him your personalized business card.
Or is this whole review a big lie/mistake? Watch it and decide for yourself.

Dallas Buyers Club (2013) - meet Ron Woodroof a homophobic electrician, rodeo and a real-life AIDS victim given 30 days to live. He decides to participate in selling non-certified pharmaceutical drugs first given to him by a "doctor" who works in Mexico. These drugs help people whom are tested positive for aids. He finds a loophole in the legal system which allows him to sell these drugs as part of a membership for the "Dallas Buyers Club". These clubs took place all over the US at this time. He runs into a lot of problems along the way with law enforcement and the FDA and he also loses many friends. The character development in this film is outstanding. Ron befriends a transvestite man "Rayon" who helps him in his scheme to sell these drugs and Ron loses his homophobic views completely and becomes a better man. The acting is incredible and the story is very gripping. Definitely worth a watch.

Talladega Nights: Uncut Edition (2006) - this film has a lot of memorable quotes and is actually very funny at times and had me laughing. However, this film has some of the worst acting that I have seen in a long while. The story is ok but it's nothing special nor does it try to be and it did drag on a little in this uncut version. This film is worth a watch if you're not in the mood for anything serious or just want a few laughs.

Monty Python and The Holy Grail (1975) - a very funny movie with lots of memorable scenes and quotes which I had actually already heard of before even watching this movie. This is definitely one of the funniest movies I have seen in a very long time and I am glad I finally forced myself to watch it because when I first time I tried watching it about 3 or 4 years ago I couldn't appreciate the humour and quit watching it within the first few minutes. A very re-watchable film.

Monty Python's The Meaning of Life[/b] (1983) - a funny movie made from a series of different sketches that "tell the meaning of life" in it's different stages. However as funny as it is it still isn't quite as funny as "The Holy Grail". Still, this film is definitely worth the watch if you like this kind of humour. I intend to watch "Life of Brian" Next.

Borat (2006) - very, very funny at times but also very, very stupid at times. Worth a watch but you'd probably be better off just watching the funny clips on their own because the movie itself isn't great. I prefered Bad Grandpa.

Monty Python's Life of Brian (1979) - although in my opinion "Life of Brian" isn't as good as "The Holy Grail" I still enjoyed this film a lot and personally feel that it is the second best film in series. It has a lot of great jokes, and has a lot of great moments. Definitely worth the watch if you liked the other movies.

Django Unchained (2012) - a very good movie that is very well shot, and produced. Yes, it's very over the top but it works fantastically here. This film is everything you'd expect from Tarantino. Very violent, very awesome.

Airplane! (1980) - A very funny comedy which has a lot of "literal" jokes. A great watch even though the acting isn't the best from most of the
cast. It's not trying to be realistic. It's just off-the-wall comedy.

Death Proof (2007) - a fairly weird movie and has a pretty bad storyline but it still remains a good movie. It's very artistic and the final sequence is actually very good. However, Tarantino says himself that this is his worst film and it is his worst in my opinion too. However, I still have a few to watch.

Airplane II: The Sequel - although not quite as good as the original this sequel still remains very funny. It used a lot of the same jokes from the first movie but the jokes still seem to remain funny and work very well. Some new jokes are also introduced. However even though we still have most of the original cast "Leslie Nielsen" doesn't join us again for the sequel which was unfortunate. Still a great movie.
My Rating: 7/10
I amended the rating for the original movie to an 8/10.

This is Spinal Tap (1984) - maybe I'm too young to understand this one. I really didn't find it funny apart from a few scenes and I didn't like the concept much either. However they did manage to capture the style very well and made the film believable.

The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! (1988) - a great film which remains funny throughout. It has a lot of memorable scenes and I even noticed a Double Indemnity spoof. I liked the way they used a film noir style voiceover at times too. Definitely worth a watch.

Waynes World (1992) - wow there was really something about this movie that drew me in straight away. I loved the characters and the story was executed well too. However, only a few of the jokes made me laugh. This doesn't make it a bad movie though. I still liked it a lot and really did have some very original concepts. I loved the ending(s).
